The Cathedral of Flow - The Ultimate Mountain Bike Holiday in the French Alps
Discover the finest secret singletrack in the French Alps on our unforgettable guided mountain bike holiday.
Join us for an unforgettable mountain bike holiday French alps! Nestled in the Hautes Alpes between Grenoble and Turin, the stunning Queyras regional park is a hidden gem for riders seeking variety, challenge, and breathtaking scenery. If you want a mountain bike holiday packed with natural singletrack, epic descents lasting over 30 minutes, and a trail variety that will blow your mind — this is the trip for you.
End each ride with an ice cream or a locally brewed beer, surrounded by dramatic peaks and sunshine. This is what “Living the Dream” really means — and we invite you to live it with us this summer.
What to expect on the Cathedral of Flow MTB Tour
This part of the French Alps is special — not only for its endless trails but for its untouched, stunning nature. Riding here feels like stepping back in time — the landscapes are pristine, and so are the trails. Few riders know about this area, which means the singletrack remains wild, quiet, and beautifully maintained by nature itself.
During your six-day mountain bike holiday, we’ll use van uplifts to ease the climbing when we can. Some days will be almost entirely uplifted in our comfortable, modern, air-conditioned van. Nevertheless, you must be fit enough to climb 500-600m per day with relative ease. Some days we will need to climb more, but we mix the big days up with the small days to keep energy levels good all week long.
There’s no fixed “rest day,” but you’re always welcome to take time out if you’d like a few relaxed hours off the bike.
Tailored Trails for Every Rider
With such a huge network of high-quality trails in the Queyras, we’ll tailor each day’s riding to suit your group’s ability and preferences. To get the most from this guided mountain bike tour, you’ll need to be at least a high-intermediate rider or above (see our ability guide). Expect a mix of pedal-powered adventure and van-assisted uplift because even on uplift days, some trails require a short pedal or hike to reach the best start points.
We’ll ride at least two big mountain days. Expect to push or ride for up to two hours on those days. But the climbs are always worth it, what better than to be rewarded with outstanding singletrack descents. If you’re unsure about your fitness or skills, just get in touch. We’re happy to chat and help you decide if this trip is right for you.
Accommodation and Food
You’ll stay in a comfortable, centrally located two-star mountain hotel, complete with secure bike storage, basic tools, and bike wash facilities. Meals are a highlight of the week — expect hearty, locally sourced food prepared to perfection by the team at Maison Gaudissard, our base for the trip.
Your trip price includes all meals and snacks, shuttle rides to the trails, and airport transfers from NICE Airport (within our recommended times). There is a lift pass fee of €25 (price in 2025), which you will need to cover. Drinks during the day and with dinner are extra.
Expert Local Guiding
Your week will be led by Emily Horridge, one of the few British guides to hold a French guiding qualification. With over 15 years’ experience in the MTB guiding industry, and as an ex-World Cup downhill racer, Emily brings unmatched expertise, skill, and passion for helping riders discover the best of the Alps.
Supporting her is David Billings, Emily’s husband, driver extraordinaire, and The Sandwich Master 😉 . Together, they’ll ensure your French Alps mountain biking holiday is smooth, safe, and filled with unforgettable trails.
